50th Anniversary Showcase

Our 50th Spring Musical will be in the Spring of 2020. We are in the beginning stages of planning a 50th Anniversary Showcase featuring past performers to help us relive some of our favorite memories from the Nugent Auditorium stage. This celebration will be held Homecoming Weekend in the Fall of 2020. If you would like to participate, please fill out this survey

We are delighted to announce our 2019 Spring Musical, "Newsies!"

"Newsies" Performances: March 15, 16, 22, 23 at 7pm and March 17th at 1pm. 

Tickets can be purchased by calling 231-291-0398. Tickets are $10 each. All seating is reserved. There are no refunds. There is a 50 cent processing fee per ticket when paying with a credit card by phone. 


Flashlight Fever 2019

It is time to begin planning your performance/act for Flashlight Fever 2018! For those of you new to MCCE, Flashlight Fever is our elementary talent show. The show will be directed by Mrs. Robinson and Mrs. Ogren with assistance from high school mentors. All students in grades 2nd-6th are able to participate. We will also have performances by our Preschool-6th Grade Dance Club AND the 5th and 6th grade choir WILL PERFORM at Flashlight Fever 2019. 


Auditions for individual and group acts will be held from 3:15-4:15pm on Thursday, April 11th. Students MUST have their COMPLETE act ready to perform for Mrs. Robinson at that time. There will be a brief information parent meeting after auditions on April 11th from 4:15-4:30pm. A parent/guardian must be in attendance. 


Flashlight Fever rehearsals will take place on Thursdays from 3:15-4:15pm on April 11, 18, 25, May 2, and May 9. The final show will be Friday, May 10th at 6:00pm. Tickets will be $5 and sold at the door.


GUIDELINES: 

  • All acts and costumes must be age appropriate and approved on Thursday, April 11th. 

  • No act may be longer than 2 1/2 minutes. 

  • Each student is allowed to be in one solo and/or one group act. 

  • Songs are sung live with a karaoke CD. There is no lip-syncing or singing with the singer. 

  • If you are using recorded music, you will be asked to leave on a CD after your audition so that a master CD can be made. Please put your name on your CD. 

  • All performers are required to attend practices but must also be practicing at home, as we will not be holding individual practice times.
