You can find all the auction items and start bidding here -

As COVID-19 continues to dominate the news, we have been carefully monitoring and assessing the impact of this evolving situation. With this in mind and in lieu of gathering in person, we have made the decision to host an online auction for an abbreviated collection.

This was an incredibly hard decision, as the auction is by far our school's largest fundraiser. Our budget is dependent on this funding to keep the services and experiences that make our school so special.

A bonus for an online auction, there is no ticket required! Now EVERYONE in our community will have the opportunity to participate and support MCC.

We believe that with your help, we can lessen the impact of COVID-19 on our mission. Thank you for your support during this challenging time for our organization and our community as a whole.

Questions or for more information contact Amber Wallace at the Muskegon Catholic Education Foundation at 231.291.0326 or [email protected].

#1. Let Us Know If You’d Like to Donate Your Ticket

While the in-person Rainbow Auction was cancelled, you can choose to donate the cost of your ticket to benefit MCC or let us know if you’d like us to provide you with a refund. If you would like a refund, please contact Amber Wallace at the Muskegon Catholic Education Foundation at 231.291.0326.

#2. Score Something Awesome in Our Online Auction

Just because we can’t meet doesn’t mean you can’t win. We’re hosting an online auction! Bidding will begin Monday, June 15 at 9:00 a.m. and end on Friday, June 19 at 11:59 p.m. Get details and preview items on our auction page.

*All donations collected this year will be saved to use at next year’s auction with the exception of any donation with an expiration date. Those will be available to bid on during the silent ONLINE auction.

#3. Make An Online Donation

In order to keep fulfilling our mission, we need your help.

When making your donation, we want to let you know about a few key provisions of the new CARES (Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security) Act. This new law is designed to help you, businesses and nonprofits facing economic hardship during the coronavirus pandemic.

  • The new law temporarily suspends the requirements for required minimum distributions (RMD) for the 2020 tax year. If you are 70½ or older, you can still make a gift from your IRA or name us as a beneficiary.
  • The new law expands charitable giving incentives and allows taxpayers who take the standard deduction to make up to $300 of charitable cash contributions to qualified charities this year.
  • For those who do itemize their deductions, the new law allows for cash contributions to qualified charities such as ours to be deducted up to 100% of your adjusted gross income for the 2020 calendar year.

All funds raised at the Auction help us to reach our financial goals in order to provide tuition assistance, vital improvements in classrooms and around campus, and funds for academic programs that enrich the curriculum for all students at Muskegon Catholic Central.

There are many ways to be involved with the Rainbow Auction.

Each year the Auction offers quality items, generously donated by individuals and businesses throughout the area and the MCC community. To donate a silent or live auction item, contact the Education Foundation at 231.291.0326 or print the auction donation form

Popular donation items include:

  • Getaways: vacation homes, hotel/resort stays
  • Tickets: to sports, concerts, theater, theme parks
  • Fun kid activities: music, sports, lessons
  • Gift certificates: restaurants, spas, and boutiques
  • Unique, money-can't-buy experiences: behind-the-scenes tours and VIP treatments for special events

Be an Auction Hero!

Auction Heroes are those who generously contribute a minimum donation of $50 to Rainbow Auction. In turn, an auction item with the minimum value of $50 will be purchased for the Silent Auction and the donor will be listed as “Auction Hero”. Auction Heroes will be listed in the event catalog given out to each guest and available online.

Donations can be made payable to: MCEF or online.
Please note “Auction Hero” in the memo

Sponsorship and underwriting are critical to the success of the Auction each year. Your tax-deductible financial contribution makes a significant impact. This is also an excellent promotional opportunity for your business or organization to be featured in our event promotion that reaches along the West Michigan Lakeshore. You can find all of our sponsorship opportunities here. If you are interested in becoming a sponsor, please complete and return the Sponsorship Agreement

Each year the funds raised from the Auction equip and empower MCC students to become Christ-centered individuals with a strong academic foundation. It takes volunteers to make all this possible. The growth of our school and its programs is largely determined by the support of the greater community. When just one individual chooses to engage, there is a tremendous impact. Whether you are a parent, alumni, grandparent, faculty member, treasured friend or local businessperson your help is paramount to the success of this event. For this reason we ask that you consider becoming part of the Auction Committee and donating your time and talent.
